FareShare FoodCloud

Starting in May Tesco convenience stores in and around Torbay will be giving away their surplus food. We’re working with them to find charities and community groups who work with vulnerable people and use food as part of the service. As well as homeless hostels, lunch clubs and domestic violence refuges this can include school breakfast and after school clubs.

Some of the charities who have already said they want to sign up include Anode, The Haven, The Acorn Centre and Cockington Primary school. I will be in Torbay on 18th and 19th April meeting these charities.

How FareShare FoodCloud Works
–  The charity nominates the day(s) each week it is available to collect surplus food from a designated Tesco convenience store.
–  The evening of a collection they are notified via text what food is available for collection.
–  The surplus food will be packaged and available for collection from the store later that evening.
–  We are happy to say, this will always be a free of charge service to our charity partners.

If you would like to find out more about the project please do let me know.
