New Sporting Groups Starting in Torbay Including a Women on the Run Group

The Women on the Run group are starting up in Torbay and are looking for new members to join their fun and exciting sports group.  The group is aimed at ladies who have never run before or perhaps not for a long time. The beginner 0-5k meet at 9am every Saturday from Plainmoor Swimming Pool in Torquay.  Beginners plus will be meeting in the future and further details will be provided soon. All routes are fully risk assessed you will be insured and the first session is free. The group is affiliated to Run England and Women On The Run.

The group organiser Dee Hollingworth has a variety of sporting credentials including a Leadership in Running Fitness course and Sports Exercise Foundation Degree. She has health trainer knowledge and skills acquired having been a leader of a Beginners Running Group in the past to create a new Beginners Group operating from premises from the Plainmoor area, Torquay. The group will be running for 30 minutes with time added for a Warm Up and Cool Down. There is a small charge of £15 to the Women on the Run, which includes a free T-shirt, subsequent renewals at £5.

There are many benefits that can be accrued from regular running including a reduction in heart disease, high blood pressure, endurance, energy and shape.
