The previous key inspection was on 23rd January 2008. The Nightingales provides residential care for up to 23 people who have dementia. Most are older people, but whether they are under or over the age of 65 does not affect the suitability of this service to them. The house is a substantial nineteenth century building, close to Torquay town centre. There is a large communal lounge that looks out over the garden, a small lounge leading on to an enclosed courtyard, and a separate dining room. There are 21 bedrooms on two floors, some of which have en-suite facilities. Fees are currently 300 - 500 pounds, depending on care needs.
